SMS Alert pre-birth history:

For a very long time I had multiple mail accounts that I needed to manage - I had an account that I used for job searches, account for firends and family mail, junk account for mailing list and online services I was subscribed to.

Many times I missed important emails due to extreme load at work and unability to remember to check it reguraly, I realized that I needed some kind of alert that will notify me of new mails. I started my research on the internet and quickly realized that there is no shareware/freeware application exists that satisfy all my requirements. Most of these applications were either created for windows or were part of much larger suites that was overkill for my purpose. My environment is Linux and I were not able to use it most of windows apps. I saw many projects on sourceforge.net, but all of it were in Alpha and looks like are dead.

So I decidedto take on the task and in couple of days created simple Java application that is doing exactly what I wanted. I actually was so happy about this app that decided to put it on SourceForge.net so other people could use it as well.
